FOR HEAVENS SAKE IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING AGAINST VEGANS SKIP THIS POST!!! If not please press read more :) love y'all! So before we start with the benefits I have experience while being vegan let's talk about why I went vegan in the first place. So it all started out back in March when I was watching youtube videos on recipes and some of them were vegan. I thought it was really interesting and healthy so I would try vegan recipes every now and then. I had no interest in being vegan because I didn't really see any reason to go vegan besides it being really cheap. One day I stumbled upon a YouTube Channel called BiteSizedVegan and I watched some of her videos like her vegan beauty routine, are tampon's vegan?, and vegan snacks at a gas station. Then I found a much more dramatic video which was a day in the life of a dairy cow. At first I thought it was extremely dramatic and unrealistic but if you put aside all of the drama and storyline and just look at the facts mentioned, which is basically what I did, then you will wonder if the facts mentioned are true. I saw a few clips of what actually goes on in a dairy farm and I discovered some disturbing facts. Facts such as that a cow actually has to be pregnant or have a calf in order to produce any milk, so in order for us humans to have the milk we have to take the baby calf away from it's mother as soon as it is born and kill the calf or put it away without it's mother (depending on it's sex). I don't see how this can be considered anything but kidnapping and stealing. You might think I'm being overly dramatic but if you actually think about it shouldn't any baby animal be allowed to drink the milk it's mother has for it and to be able to be close to it's mother and feel her warmth? We don't need milk at all if you look it up most people in the world are lactose intolerant. Milk is designed to make a baby cow grow to be hundreds of pounds don't you think maybe it will do the same for you? Of course you could go ahead and use different processes to strip the fat away but leave it with no nutrition? Yes, milk is a key ingredient to millions of recipes but can be easily replaced with many other milks. Oh you're allergic to soy and can't have soy milk? Use almond milk. Allergic to nuts and soy? Use flax milk. Allergic to or don't like all of the above? Try rice milk or coconut milk or cashew milk or anything other than animal milk. I promise there is a substitute that you can use.
Let's move on to talking about why I stopped eating eggs. After the cow video I watched a few other videos on other channels and I came across why we should not eat eggs. I'm not even going to talk about how they may have salmonella, have cholesterol, and come out the same place a chicken's poop does. No, that's not why I stopped eating them at all. I stopped eating them because I found out that the chickens are treated like machines. They are put into little tiny boxes where they can't move, about the size of an ipad. They are fed special food that makes them incredibly obese, causing them to live a much shorter life than they are supposed to. This won't affect you just by reading this, please go on YouTube and watch a video on egg chickens. Backyard chickens are a better option but not the best because chickens actually can be wild (look it up) and they will eat unfertilized eggs to retain the nutritents
